It's wild to think that it hasn't even been 1.5 years since I attended these guys' first ever event (which included Street Fighter projected outdoors to play as we sat around an open fire, and retro game stations inside a circus tent... not a bad start... )
Fast forward to now, and they are hosting monthly events at Neukölln's cosy Sisyfass with loyal attendees, building outdoor and indoor gaming stations at festivals and other events, and many other exciting things. They've also incorporated a social aspect into their collective, aiming to increase awareness & safety in digital media and gaming for kids, youth & parents.
I'm so proud and happy for these guys. It think their success shows what happens when you find your 'niche' and go for it (a bunch of ravers/clubbers who enjoy throwing events, but are also massive nerds.)
As well as the usual happenings you can expect from their monthly Sisyfass shindig (retro gaming consoles, special tournaments, card games, cozy decor and game inspired dj sets to level up) this special edition is INDIE GAMES. Game developers will be showcasing their projects, released or unreleased, and can receive feedback from gamers. Tonight (23rd Feb) @Sisyfass.
I'm not even a 'gamer' and I still enjoy their events! You'll find me making the neighbours complain by stomping on Dance Dance Revolution....
To stay up to date with their gatherings, all their socials are in their Linktree: https://linktr.ee/beatemhub?fbclid=IwAR2T434oMVS9YXNSAotrYSJPrCSFvRnK5k7ZIkARdj0pEkvzKrc9d8PEhjQ
