Yeah! Our New Year rave got a feature written about it by KEYI magazine. I love the snaps captured by their photographer, Robert Crahmer. They really encapsulate that proper old school rave vibe. And I've definitely been influenced into buying a fish eye lens...
Yes, as you can see in that last picture... the police did unfortunately make an appearance. But at least not until 6.30 am. And thankfully so. As always, FNS doesn't just consider the musical line-up, but puts in tonne of effort into the visual aspects and performance art too. It was also the first time having a live hip-hop act and a live concert at the rave. It would have been an awful shame to have to pull the plug early.
There's also a few pictures of mine featured in the article, as well as from our Parisian friend, Raize (more of his pics below). After recently meeting a really cool crew in Paris, having some of them come through for this rave made it extra special. And then last minute, another crew from Hamburg also jumped in to fine-tune the sound. Now these Hamburg guys (originally from Paris) have also linked with the other Paris crew. Yeh, it was a big raver networking blow out!
Perhaps you've picked up on enough visual clues to tell that the rave was in an old Autohaus. (Yup that's why you'll see a lot of the crew cosplaying as car mechanics in our newly found jackets.) I was obsessed with the old car wash area. The night before the rave some of us had to stay up all night to keep watch in the building, so this is how I passed the time...
Exactly like riding a car through a carwash right?! In the end my little 4am side project turned into quite the cool chill area if I do say so myself.
It took me a while to be able to look back at these without getting severe 'PRD' (Post-Rave Depression). As always, it went by so fast. After weeks of build up and excitement. It's suddenly all over. My favourite analogy is comparing it to those fine sand drawings created by Monks, to then just be destroyed again quickly after (I have Lulu to thank for that one.)
Until next time...!
